Aftermarket car modification houses have become mighty capable of transforming any vehicle into just about any other car.
This is India’s first Toyota Fortuner with a Gulf Racing theme. People often take their old vehicles to aftermarket car modification houses to give them a new lease of life. This latest instance is a prime example of that. Fortuner is one of the most popular 7-seat off-roading SUVs in India. It has been around for years now. Toyota cars are famous for being immensely reliable and durable. Hence, there are owners who have the first-gen model and they just want aesthetic enhancements to keep using it. That is where such customizations come into the picture.
Toyota Fortuner with Gulf Racing Theme
This video emerges from Autorounders on YouTube. It captures the owner of the car shop explaining about this unique vehicle. It was the first SUV which came to their workshop in accidental condition. The front right section of the SUV was deformed. Hence, the owner decided to transform it completely. He gave some freedom to the car modification house in some regards and he just wanted the Gulf Racing theme on the exterior and interior. The car shop owner decided to, first of all, slap on a Lexus kit. This includes a colossal Spindle Grille with chrome surrounds, new headlamps, a hood scoop, prominent fog lamps with chrome housing, a sporty bumper, etc.
To commemorate the Gulf Racing theme, the car shop used a blue colour with orange inserts at various parts including the tailgate, roof, bonnet and bumper. The side and rear sections are almost identical to the stock model. Then they moved to the inside. Here, the workers redesigned the seats with added cushioning and a light colour theme with subtle orange elements. In fact, the door panels have been professionally finished with utmost care and detail. They get soft-touch materials and orange piping. The AC vents also get a touch of orange. All in all, the Toyota Fortuner owner mentions that the car modification house has surpassed his expectations.
Our View
I love to see a professional and quality customization job. However, I must mention that most car modifications are illegal in India. Therefore, I suggest that you visit your local RTO and consult them regarding the kind of customizations that fall under the purview of the law. Otherwise, you could face issues with the traffic cops later on. Talking purely about this modification, I must appreciate the work that has been done on this old Fortuner. A fresh lease of life has been pumped into the SUV. I shall keep an eye out for more such cases in times to come.
