Maruti WagonR is the staple family car ruling the Indian households for years but this modification is an attempt to modernise it a bit.
In this video, a Maruti WagonR owner installs an electric sunroof from the aftermarket. WagonR needs no introduction as it features on the list of highest-selling cars in the country for years now. The tall-boy silhouette and modern looks (in the latest version) are the trademarks of the hatchback that sits below the Swift in the Indian lineup. However, to fulfil the dream of having a sunroof in a car, this WagonR has been modified.

Maruti WagonR with Electric Sunroof
A popular Youtuber captures the modification made to this WagonR. At the front, there is a red insert on the grille, red LED lights are also inserted into the grille, then there are police lights (red and blue) that blink inside the grille, LED headlamps have been installed on this WagonR and stylish alloy wheels accentuate the overall stance of the hatchback. The tyres are 15-inch compared to the 13-inch that the stock model comes with. Also, the interior upholstery has been modified using premium materials.

However, the main talking point is the electric sunroof which the owner has developed himself. He owns a car modification shop where he performs such activities on his own. He cut out a hole in the roof and installed the sunroof. Interestingly, he was aware of the leakage issues that generally come with installing aftermarket sunroofs. To tackle that, he has attached a piping system on the sides of the sunroof which direct the water to the 4 side pillars of the car. He mentions that this setup has been inspired by Cruze which was on sale in India a few years ago.

The entire cost for getting this sunroof installed on the WagonR is Rs 35,000. The owner expresses his love for the car as he owns a WagonR since 2007. He considers it a decent affordable option but finds its build quality lacking. In fact, he recalls a few occasions where the body of the car suffered damages even in the cases of minor incidents.
