Car wraps are the easiest way to transform the appearance of any car which is what makes custom wraps so popular.
This has to be India’s first Mahindra XUV700 with a holographic wrap. For the uninitiated, a holographic wrap is one which appears to change colours when viewed from different angles and under varied lighting conditions. XUV700 is the flagship SUV from the Indian auto giant. It comes with tons of the latest amenities and functionalities to pamper the customers. Even on the outside, the appearance is striking. Still, to give individuality, people often wrap their cars in unique colours. This is a prime example of that. Let us glance at the details of this latest case.
Mahindra XUV700 with Holographic Car Wrap
The details of this case emerge from carbaaba on Instagram. The visuals capture this distinct SUV plying on the road. Depending on the angle of the sunlight falling on the car’s surface and the viewing angle, the SUV appears to be of a different colour. It definitely makes the vehicle vibrant. These are vinyl wraps which shimmer and alter colours to offer an iridescent effect. It is a simple way to modify the entire presence of any car without any modifications. In fact, if you want, you can even remove the wrap and the original paint of the vehicle will remain protected and new. There are tons of benefits to using a holographic wrap. These include:
- Durability – These are durable wraps with high resistance against UV rays, scratches and minor abrasions. Hence, the exterior of a car is well-maintained over long durations.
- Affordability – In comparison to a custom paint job, wrapping a car is generally more cost-effective. That is arguably the cheapest way to alter the appearance of any car.
- Easy Installation and Removal – I particularly like the fact that these wraps are easy to install and remove. They don’t tamper with the original paint of the car. In fact, they act as protective layers. Hence, the resale value of the car could be high since the original paint, and in turn, the appearance of the car will remain fresh.
- Flexibility – If you don’t wish to wrap the entire vehicle in a wrap, you can even choose specific sections like bumpers, mirrors, roofs and other parts you like. This lends flexibility for when you change your mind.
Our View
Even though many people like to wrap their vehicles, I must mention that most car modifications are illegal in India. However, there is an official way to ensure that you don’t flout the laws. You can ask for permission from your local RTO prior to wrapping your car. The authorities will ask you to bring the car to the RTO after the wrap. They will click photos of the car with the new colour and enter the details in a fresh registration certificate. In this manner, the whole process will be official and you won’t have any problems with the traffic cops later on.
