Indian car enthusiasts can be really innovative and strange and this latest case signifies that perfectly
In a rather strange chain of events, a BYD Seal was spotted with an Audi RS engine in India. That is as bizarre as it gets. Note that the Seal is among the sportiest electric sedans in the country. The Chinese carmaker shocked everybody when it announced the price of this immensely capable electric sports car for the Indian market. It retails between Rs 41 lakh and Rs 53 lakh, ex-showroom. That represents incredible value for money considering its credentials. Hence, it is gaining traction in our country.
BYD Seal with Audi RS Engine
This post stems from squeejeez on Instagram. The visuals capture the tail section of a BYD Seal parked in the middle of a road. The driver presses the accelerator hard, to show off the sound of the exhaust. Now, it is clear that this can’t be any electric powertrain. They are silent. The text on the video clip informs us that this is the first BYD Seal in the country which has a swapped 4.0-litre twin-turbo TFSI V8 mill. Within a matter of seconds, the vehicle disappears from sight on the back of brisk acceleration.
Digging through the comment section and applying some logic, I believe that this might just be a clever audio sync. Many netizens are pointing out that the creator of this video simply superimposed the sound of a sports car on this EV. In fact, people are also mentioning that the engine sounds like that of a BMW M5 or Ferrari F90. Clearly, there is something fishy which is why we would recommend our readers to verify everything they see on the internet these days.
My View
The internet is full of incredibly creative people who are willing to do anything to catch eyeballs. We know that social media addiction is at an all-time high in our country. Since we hail from the automotive background, we often come across people performing questionable activities with their cars and bikes just to garner views. Hence, we must be wary of what is real and what is not. I would advise our readers to not believe everything blindly. There is enough technology out there to bend reality just to gain the attention of internet users.
