There have been a few spy shots of the Ford Range Pickup Truck in India. We reckon it was being used for the homologation process by ARAI along with the new Endeavour (Everest). But there could be other reasons as well. Ford has been hinting at making a comeback to our market. In the last few months, the rumour mill has been running on overdrive with tons of spy shots and speculations. For now, let us take a look at the details of the Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Depending on the trim levels, there are red inserts in the black body claddings which accentuate the sporty appearance of the pickup truck. Additionally, there are roof rails and side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics for the passengers. Even the alloy wheels are chunky and sporty. At the rear, you would find a cavernous cargo compartment and tiny LED taillamps. On the inside, the interior and cabin layout resemble that of the regular Everest. Author’s Note
Considering recent Ford job postings and the sightings of Ranger and Endeavour vehicles in Chennai, it seems that the American automaker may be preparing to re-enter our market after a hiatus of two and a half years since halting car production here. With an existing Chennai plant capable of producing 150,000-200,000 cars and 350,000 engines annually, Ford’s return holds significant strategic importance. The company is committed to addressing the challenges that previously resulted in substantial losses totalling $2 billion, prioritizing profitability this time around. While contemplating the potential introduction of premium models like the new-generation Endeavour, Ranger and the Mach-E, Ford is concentrating on strengthening its position in the country by prioritizing mainstream models such as the mid-size SUV.
