Indian Parsi Community and Their Classic Cars
The video has been created by DW REV – Cars & Mobility on YouTube. The channel has done a brilliant job of visiting a lot of Parsi people in various parts of the country. As a matter of fact, the team has been able to locate and interact with people from all walks of life with different backgrounds. However, their connection with automobiles is the common denominator which is evident in this video. You would be surprised to see how well they have restored and kept vehicles from more than five decades ago. They not only keep them parked in garages, some of them are even used on a daily basis.

Their Philosophy
The main aspect that came out of interacting with these lovely people is just how much they value what they have. That has been their philosophy. Since they have migrated to India under difficult circumstances, they understand the value of everything. Therefore, they believe in using a car or any other object until it can be used. That is how they have been able to keep their vehicles in usable condition even after so many decades. Many of them treat these cars as their siblings and have been passed down for generations.

During the later part of the video, we also get to acquaint ourselves with an avid and veteran automobile journalist and aficionado, Adil Jal Darukhanawala. He has prepared some incredibly detailed scaled models of the popular cars from the first Himalayan Rally competition which put India on the global map. His collection is extensive with some of the most popular cars back then. All these examples show just how humble, practical and emotionally connected our Parsi community is toward their cars and why it is likely to remain this way going forward too.
