Expected to launch late next month, the India-spec New-Gen Hyundai Tucson was revealed digitally earlier today
Continuing with its SUV offensive, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has revealed the India-spec new-gen Tucson that it is expected to launch in the later half of next month. Akin to the current model, the new-gen Hyundai Tucson will rival the likes of Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross. While the India will receive the LWB version, contrary to the speculations, it won’t have a 7-seater layout.

New-Gen Hyundai Tucson Design & Features
The new-gen Hyundai Tucson looks a lot more modern than the outgoing version. This is thanks to the carmaker’s ‘Sensual Sportiness’ design language that replaced the Fluidic theme of the earlier model. The updated versions of the Creta and the Venue that will launch later this year will borrow design cues from the upcoming new-gen Tucson. A major highlight of the new styling package is the wide grille that runs across the width of the front-end and even houses the triangular LED DRLs. The interior will feel as contemporary as the exterior. It will be brimming with features like a widescreen infotainment unit, all-digital instrumentation, Bluelink connected car features, dual-zone climate control, ventilate seats, 6 airbags, panoramic sunroof, and Level-1 ADAS.

Design & Styling
We’re yet to have an official word on the specifications of the India-spec new-gen Hyundai Tucson but it will likely feature a 2.0-litre MPI naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will be shared with the Alcazar. The 1.5-litre diesel mill of the 7-seater Creta-based offering is unlikely to make it to the Tucson as it will, in all likelihood, will feature a revised 2.0-litre CRDI mill of the current model. Also, like the current version, the top-spec variant of the new model will feature AWD. The Hyundai Tucson has been the brand’s flagship offering since the discontinuation of the Santa Fe. However, this time around, the top slot will be taken by the Ioniq 5 electric car that will be launched in the months to come. Still, though, the Tucson will continue to be the costliest, most feature-laden as well as the most powerful ICE offering.
