In the first phase of the video, he puts it through a dyno to test its peak performance including top speed, power and torque. It was able to hit 250 km/h and produce an almost unbelievable 198 hp and 308 Nm of peak power and torque on the dyne. This was made possible with the help of a Stage 1+ engine remap and an intercooler. The host even mentions that it borrows some elements from the iconic Hyundai i20N. That indicates the level of mods on this car.
To test the real-world performance of this monster, the host takes it out on a highway. Note that this is a manual version which lets the driver have all the control. He is seriously impressed by the performance of the vehicle. The sheer push back into the seat that one gets as soon as he puts it in a lower gear is incredible. In fact, the host goes on to confess that the straight-line performance is even better than the tuned VW Virtus. That is a huge compliment. All in all, this is the most powerful new Hyundai Verna in the country.
My View
In all honesty, there have not been too many hardcore and professional car shops in India that can perform such sophisticated engine tuning. As a matter of fact, I would like to caution our readers to not go for such things. This is meant for serious driving enthusiasts only. Moreover, you might get in trouble with the traffic cops as most car modifications are illegal in India. Hence, you can learn as much as you want from such videos.
