The India-bound VinFast VF8 SUV has broken all records at the ASEAN NCAP by grabbing 5 out of 6 safety awards. VinFast is a Vietnamese carmaker which was been creating waves in the automobile world across the globe. Having already entered the U.S. market, it now plans to try its luck in India. VinFast VF8 SUV Bags 5 Safety Awards at ASEAN NCAP
VinFast VF8 is a D-segment SUV that measures just over 4.7 m in length. At the ASEAN NCAP, it was able to bag 5 significant safety awards which is a testament to its innovative engineering. The competition consisted of over 15 major automakers in ASEAN. We know that boasting incredible safety ratings is a huge factor in enticing modern buyers. That has been the case with Indian customers for the last few years too. The 5 awards which VinFast got include:
- Best Child Occupant Protection
- Best Safety Assist
- Best Overall
- Best Motorcyclist Safety and
- Best SUV
In the ‘Best Child Occupant Protection’ category, the VF8 scored the maximum points on frontal and side impacts. The ‘Best Safety Assist’ award came due to features like Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). The ‘Best Overal’ and ‘Best Motorcyclist Safety’ awards are based on amenities like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). Finally, we can attribute the ‘Best SUV’ award to the SUVs’ well-equipped functionalities like Automatic High Beam (AHB) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).
