The RS moniker is something that driving enthusiasts revere, and Skoda has had a great response for its RS cars in India over the years
A prominent foreign car expert reviews the India-bound Skoda Octavia RS thoroughly. In the last few years, the Czech car marque has imported the Octavia RS in limited numbers via the CBU route. Interestingly, however, these cars have flown off the shelves. Clearly, there is a distinct demand for this performance sedan in our country. That is why we will get the latest-generation version of this famed sedan in India soon. For now, let us see what the car reviewer has to say about it.
Foreign Media Reviews Skoda Octavia RS
We get to experience this review courtesy of carwow on YouTube. The reviewer says that the front fascia is more aggressive than the last-gen model with the sporty grille and bumper and that honeycomb pattern. Also, the sharp LED headlamps, the massive alloy wheels, the boot spoiler, sporty rear bumper, dual-exhaust, etc., enhance the road presence. On the inside, the Skoda Octavia RS gets red and black upholstery. The top amenities include things like a free-standing touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a three-spoke steering wheel with controls, an electronic parking brake, red ambient lighting, red stitching on the black upholstery, metal pedals, soft-touch materials on the door panels and dashboard and much more.
Specs
Under the hood, the latest Skoda Octavia RS carries a powerful 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol mill which will generate a whopping 265 hp and 370 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Note that this makes the hot-sedan the most powerful Octavia RS ever. Performing the transmission duties is a 7-speed DSG transmission, which allows a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 6.4 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h, and the host achieved a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.95 seconds in his testing.
The standard sports suspension is lowered by 15 millimetres and, together with the progressive steering and electronically controlled VAQ limited-slip differential, ensures excellent traction and driving dynamics in any situation. The RS-specific adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) can be installed as an option. Also, the braking performance is ensured by ventilated disc brakes measuring 340 x 30 mm at the front and 310 x 22 mm at the rear. All these aspects make it an aspirational product for those who want a balance between practicality and performance.

Driving Impressions
The host took the vehicle across diverse traffic conditions. These include motorways and city streets. The vehicle performed well. The acceleration was adequate, but he mentioned tyre noise at high speeds. Furthermore, the transmission is decent and enables great performance. Despite the stiffer and lowered suspension, there is not a huge trade-off in terms of the ride quality. All in all, the hot-sedan is certainly an exciting proposition.
