The Czech carmaker is making all sorts of records in terms of its sales in our market, something that was almost unthinkable a couple of years ago.
India has become the 3rd largest market for Skoda globally. This incredible achievement is a direct result of its latest MQB A0 IN platform designed specifically for emerging markets. This platform underpins the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. It is on the back of these two products that Skoda has been able to achieve unprecedented sales in the last few months in our market. Take a look at the details of this news and how Zac Hollis reacted to it.

India Becomes 3rd Biggest Market Skoda
For the first half of 2022, Skoda managed to sell an impressive 25,948 units in our market overtaking China where it sold 24,700. Germany and its Czech Republic (its home turf) continue to be the biggest consumers of Skoda products selling 63,454 and 35,469 products in H1 2022 respectively. Such huge numbers in the Indian market were unfathomable for the brand selling cars at a premium and lacking a dealership and service network just a few years ago. However, Kushaq and Slavia emerged as game-changing products for Skoda propelling the brand to its highest monthly sales recently.

Sharing this incredible feat, Zac Hollis, Director of Sales, Marketing and Service in India, posted on social media, “Very proud after almost 4 years in India to have taken the brand to the third biggest market worldwide for Skoda. Starting out 4 years ago with an image of being expensive to own, with few service centres and poor customer satisfaction to selling close to 6,000 cars a month and being the fastest growing brand in India is an achievement for the whole team. From the Chairman to Doorman this message of thanks for this achievement goes out to you all. #team”

With products like the Kushaq and Slavia, the driving enthusiasts will always keep trying to buy such products and with time, Skoda will expand its footprint with respect to dealership and service network.
