Hindustan Ambassador Yellow Taxi Used as BBQ Station
This post comes from theindianfoodblogger on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather enticing process. An iconic yellow taxi, which is a rare sight on Indian roads anymore, is converted into a barbeque station. Its engine bay has accommodated an entire grille and BBQ setup. The workers are seen putting marinated chicken and other such eatables onto the BBQ. Huge flames emerge from the BBQ station and the food is being cooked directly under the sun. People have gathered around to satiate their hunger.

As per the information in the video clip, it becomes clear that this instance comes from Kerala. In fact, the post mentions that the owner of this setup is ready to give out a franchise under the name ‘Smoked BBQ Taxi’. They clearly want to create an entire brand around this idea of using the yellow taxis to cook barbeque. While we can’t comment on the future, at least for now, people are really loving the ambience. Not to mention, the food has to taste good for the brand to expand.

The trend of food trucks or mini kitchens in old cars or even premium cars is gaining traction lately. This is a part of the street food culture which has been around in our country for decades. Eating from a food truck is just an extension of that practice. To expand any business, the product needs to be great. Hence, we can only hope that the food tastes delicious. Also, we appreciate the concept of incorporating a vintage car like the yellow taxi into the business.
