The Altroz Race Edition was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 to challenge to Hyundai i20 N-Line.
The Tata Altroz Racer Edition was spotted testing lately. Altroz is a prominent premium hatchback in our market. It rivals the iconic Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. It holds the distinction of being the only hatchback in the country to boast a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. That is one of the biggest reasons why people get attracted to it. Apart from that, it also comes with tons of modern amenities and appealing exterior styling. To expand its reach even further, Tata Motors is planning a performance variant of the Altroz called the Racer Edition.

Tata Altroz Racer Edition Spied
This video comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. It captures the Altroz Racer Edition plying on the road. In fact, two versions are being tested simultaneously. It is possible that these might carry different transmissions – manual and automatic. Apart from that, the exterior of the premium hatchback is wrapped in a heavy camouflage. Still, the exterior silhouette of this car gives away its true identity. What I find particularly intriguing is the alloy wheel design. It reminds me of the regular Altroz. Obviously, the other design elements won’t be any different from the regular model save for a few Racer Edition badges all across the body.
Specs
The Tata Altroz Racer Edition will come with a powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol mill which generates a healthy 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak power and torque. I reckon there will be a choice between either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Still, this will be confirmed once the official launch takes place. Other key highlights include 6 airbags, a voice-activated electric sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, leatherette seats, rear AC vents, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and more.
