This drag race competition between the new Hyundai Verna turbo petrol and a tuned Fiat Punto Abarth is incredibly exciting. For decades, the Verna has consistently ranked as one of the most sought-after mid-size sedans in the country. In its present generation, it is available with two 1.5-litre petrol engines – Turbo and non-Turbo. On the other hand, the Punto Abarth is among the rarest hot hatches in the country. On top of that, this particular model has a stage 1 remapped engine which has insane specifications. Let us take a look at the details of this race.

Hyundai Verna vs Fiat Punto Abarth Drag Race
This video comes from Rohan Makania on YouTube. The YouTuber has the two vehicles side-by-side. On the count of three, the cars commence the race in their sportiest settings. The Verna takes the lead in the first round and remains ahead. However, there was a slight delay in the launch of the Punto. That happened multiple times. But when the launch of both cars was perfect, the Punto decimated the Verna. In the last leg of the race, there was a rolling acceleration race. The Punto was again able to trounce the Verna. Therefore, the former was declared the winner of this race.

Author’s Note
We recognize that YouTubers often use drag races as a means to compare vehicle performances. However, it’s important to recognize that these races can have lasting effects on cars, as they don’t typically undergo high-acceleration straight-line bursts in everyday driving scenarios. Participating in drag races with personal vehicles is not recommended, given safety and mechanical considerations. We strongly discourage our readers from attempting such endeavours and emphasize that drag races do not faithfully represent real-world driving conditions.
