We keep witnessing bizarre incidents on roads on a regular basis and this Hyundai Verna owner carrying a camel in the boot qualifies as one such case. Verna has been a popular product not just in India, but in many international markets. Even this incident comes from somewhere in the Middle East. People carry animals in cars relatively frequently. However, it is quite frustrating and even painful sometimes for animals to get squeezed into a tight space which is not meant for them. For now, let us get into the details of this latest case.
Hyundai Verna Owner Carries Camel in Trunk
I came across this post by portharcourt_car_guy on Instagram. The visuals narrate the entire picture. A camel is sitting inside the boot compartment of the Verna. I must also mention here that our Indian readers might assume that this is the Xcent and not the Verna. But the Indian Xcent is called the Verna in many international markets. In fact, even in India, this first-generation Verna was launched as the new-gen model of the then Xcent. Hence, it was particularly criticized for its small trunk. That makes this instance even more bizarre. It is surprising how the owner was able to fit in camel in such a narrow space.
I must agree with some of the comments which state just how cruel it is for the creature. It is peeping out of the boot and is evidently helpless. This set-up could easily create issues for other road users. That is what the netizens were also pointing out. They are clearly concerned about the well-being of the animal but accept that such incidents are only illegal when the Police are around. If no one finds out about such incidents, people can get away with just about anything.
Current-Gen Hyundai Verna
The existing Verna is a huge departure from this old version in terms of space, appearance and powertrains. It is now among the largest in the segment in terms of length, width and wheelbase. Even the boot compartment is massive with enough space for a family to go out on a trip with large suitcases. Under its hood, there is the most powerful engine in this segment. This is the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol mill which churns out an impressive 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. In any case, we hope that people stop mistreating animals and start following traffic regulations vehemently.
