You might be surprised to find out that the recently launched Hyundai Verna is the most exported car from India. Kia Sonet follows on rank 2. Since its introduction, the Verna has solidified its place as an iconic contender within the mid-size sedan segment. It has been captivating customers with its enduring popularity. Despite the passage of time, its strong following remains unwavering. Nevertheless, new competitors like the VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia have recently emerged, seeking to challenge its established dominance. But looking at the sales, both domestic and export, the signs look promising for the premium mid-size sedan from the Korean carmaker.

Hyundai Verna Most Exported Car from India
As per the latest data, Hyundai was able to sell 5,634 units of the mid-sized sedan in June 2023 compared to just 3,048 units in the same month last year. This marks a monumental 84.84% growth on a year-to-year basis. That, in itself, is a testament to the demand for the mid-size sedan not just in India but in international markets too. Kia Sonet, on the other hand, was able to sell 5,166 units in June 2023 in contrast to 2,997 units in June 2022. This is also a remarkable 72.37% growth on a year-to-year basis. The other cars that follow on this list include Hyundai i10 NIOS, Maruti Swift and Maruti Baleno selling 3,515, 3,509 and 3,159 units respectively.

The Hyundai Verna offers customers a choice between two powertrain options. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, capable of delivering 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. The second option is a more potent 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, generating an impressive 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. Depending on the chosen powertrain, customers can opt for either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission for the naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission for the turbo petrol engine. As for pricing, the Hyundai Verna starts at an attractive Rs 10.90 lakh and ranges up to Rs 17.38 lakh, ex-showroom.
