The latest generation Hyundai Verna was launched in 2017. It received a huge makeover transforming itself from a beefy car to a sporty sleek one. Hyundai invested a lot in this sedan. With the current generation, we expect it to run for around 3-4 years before getting a facelift. However, latest reports suggest that Hyundai has already started the development works on this model. The Hyundai Verna facelift might launch by 2020 with new features, some exterior and interior design changes and new petrol and diesel engines. Currently, Verna comes with a 1.6 Litre CRDi diesel engine and 1.6 Litre VTVT petrol engine. These engines are also found in the other models of Hyundai.

The Hyundai Verna facelift is going to get a new 1.5 Litre petrol engine as well as a 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The diesel engine is rumoured to have power figures of 115 BHP and torque worth of 250 Nm. The figures for the petrol engine are not known yet. However, it is speculated that it will be tuned for further hybrid engines, that will come out by 2023. This new engine will be more efficient and cleaner than the previous engine. There are reports also suggesting that these engines might feature in the KIA Concept SUV, which is due to launch in 2019.

Currently, the Verna runs on a 1.6 Litre CRDi engine and 1.6 Litres VTVT petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 128 BHP of power and 265 Nm of torque. The petrol engine churns out 123 BHP of power and 154 Nm of torque. Both the power and torque figures will reduce with the new engines. Both the engines are mated to 6-speed manual transmission with an optional 6-speed Automatic gearbox. The petrol engine provides a mileage of 17.4 KMPL and the diesel engine offers 23.9 KMPL.

Another part of the news says that it will receive some cosmetic changes and new features list. The company sources told to Autocar that, the Hyundai Verna facelift will look like a new car. So we expect some changes in the bumpers, grilles, bonnets and rear portions. In the interiors, it might get new instruments and a revised infotainment system. Currently, Hyundai Verna is one of the most feature-loaded cars in its price range. If there are more features in the future, it would be just WOW.
