The Hyundai Verna facelift interiors gets a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital instrument cluster, new AC vents and a new faux wood trim on the dashboard.
Hyundai is readying themselves for the market launch of the Verna facelift later this month. The company opened bookings for the refreshed sedan last week and also announced that the updated car will come with Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car tech that includes features like Smart-watch app link and remote vehicle start, to name a few. We have already reported to you about the exterior design changes, and now, in the run up to its launch, here are the first images of the interiors of the Hyundai Verna facelift.
At first glance, the interiors of the Hyundai Verna facelift does not seem all that different from the pre-facelift model but if you take a closer look, you will notice quite a few changes. The most obvious change is the new larger 8.0-inch touchscreen-infotainment unit that replaces the smaller 7.0-inch unit on the pre-facelift model. The system is replete with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and of course, the Blue Link Connectivity suite. Also, the new infotainment screen is a floating unit as opposed to the dashboard in-built screen on the pre-facelift model.
The other big change is the new all-digital instrument cluster that replaces the analog dials on the pre-facelift Verna. This new digital instrument cluster will also be seen on the new Creta as well as the next-gen i20 that’s due later this year. Other than that, the dashbaord of the Verna facelift gets a new faux wood trim which replaces the faux brushed-aluminum trim on the pre-facelift model. The AC vents around the infotainment screen have also been restyled and the upholstery gets minor design and colour combination tweaks as well.
The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift receives plenty of visual updates on the outside as well. The headlights have been reshaped and are now LED units with new DRLs. The face gets a new grille with lots of chrome treatment and the bumper has been redesigned as well which looks a lot similar to the one on the Elantra. The bumper even gets a brushed-aluminium insert for the lip. At the back, the sedan gets a revised tail lamp and a restyled bumper with again some chrome treatment and a subtle faux diffuser. Hyundai will offer six colour options with the Verna facelift – Phantom Black, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey and Starry Night.

The sedan will also get a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This 1.0L turbo-petrol engine produces 120bhp in the Venue, Grand i10 Nios and the Verna and we expect it to remain same for the Verna as well. Apart from this new 1.0L engine, the facelifted car will get new 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines as well. The older engines have been phased out due to the BS6 norms. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard with the engines. For the automatic variants, the petrol engine will come with a CVT gearbox while the diesel engine can be had with a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic.

The launch of the Verna facelift coincides with that of the next-gen City and it would be interesting to see how these updated sedans rival against each other. The Hyundai Verna facelift’s price is likely to go up by a fair bit; the pre-facelift Verna’s price ranges from Rs 8.18-14.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
