Hyundai has opened bookings for the Verna facelift for a token amount of Rs 25,000. It can either be done online or at any Hyundai dealership.
Hyundai teased us with the Verna facelift sometime ago and now, they have fully revealed the India-spec Verna facelift. Hyundai has also opened bookings for the Verna facelift. Customers can book the mid-size sedan online or at Hyundai dealerships for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift receives plenty of visual updates. The headlights have been reshaped and are now LED units with new DRLs. The face gets a new grille with lots of chrome treatment and the bumper has been redesigned as well which looks a lot similar to the one on the Elantra. The bumper even gets a brushed-aluminium insert for the lip.
When viewed in the profile, the Verna facelift does not sport any significant changes except for the new dual-tone alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan gets a revised tail lamp and a restyled bumper with again some chrome treatment and a subtle faux diffuser. Hyundai will offer six colour options with the Verna facelift – Phantom Black, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey and Starry Night.
The sedan will get a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This 1.0L turbo-petrol engine produces 120bhp in the Venue, Grand i10 Nios and the Verna and we expect it to remain same for the Verna as well. Apart from this new 1.0L engine, the facelifted car will get new 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines as well. The older engines have been phased out due to the BS6 norms. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard with the engines. For the automatic variants, the petrol engine will come with a CVT gearbox while the diesel engine can be had with a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic.
The Verna facelift with the 1.5 petrol will be available in S, SX and SX(O) variants (the latter two get the CVT auto option). Meanwhile, the 1.5 diesel will be on offer in S+, SX and SX(O) form, with just the higher two trims getting the torque convertor automatic option.

On the inside, the Hyundai Verna facelift is equipped with a 4.2-inch colour TFT screen for the part-digital instrument cluster. It also gets a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other than that, it will continue with the features it previously got like a sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, hands-free boot opening and an Arkamys sound system.

Another highlight is the addition of the Blue Link connected-car tech. The Verna facelift’s Blue Link connectivity suite has a total of 45 features, and also includes voice recognition that can be used to control a wider variety of in-car functions such as making phone calls, tracking live cricket scores, getting navigation assistance and weather updates. The launch of the Verna facelift coincides with that of the next-gen City and it would be interesting to see how these updated sedans rival against each other. The Hyundai Verna facelift’s price is likely to go up by a fair bit; the pre-facelift Verna’s price ranges from Rs 8.18-14.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
