Hyundai India is generating lots of sales on Hyundai Verna Fluidic which is one of the popular sedans in its segment. The Verna Fluidic comes in 10 different variants and four different engine options, out of these two car Petrol engines, two are diesel. Both the Petrol and Diesel engine variants come Automatic transmission in the top end SX(O) trim which is the 1.6 Litre high end model with fully loaded feature and equipment set. Since the price of Petrol in India is much higher compared to prices of Diesel, the sales of Diesel engine models is much higher compared to the petrol variants. Also in Diesel the Automatic transmission variant generates encouraging sales numbers which stand at 10% of the total sales. The reason for the same is quite clear, there is no competition to this model from rivals as there is no diesel automatic in the price segment in India. In past few months, there have been lot of enquiries about the automatic transmission variant on the lower end variants od Hyundai Verna Diesel (Verna SX and EX). Based on the expected demand, Hyundai India is likely to bring the Hyundai Verna 1.6 Diesel lower end variants EX / SX with automatic transmission options soon.

The lowered priced Verna Diesel with Automatic transmission will attract more buyers as the target customers of Verna like features at affordable price tag, and they would also like the comfort of an Automatic transmission car by shelling out some extra money for that. As of now, the top end Diesel automatic variant comes at Rs. 11.26 Lakhs which seems out of budget to many buyers. There are buyers who can do without some of the fancy features but want AT for an affordable price, but they don’t have an option as of now. With the new variants coming in, if the 1.6 Diesel EX is launched, it is expected to be priced at Rs. 10.10 Lakhs and SX at Rs. 10.5 Lakhs which is a much more lucrative price tag for a car with low running cost of a diesel car and comfort of an automatic sedan.
