The battle in the upper-C segment sedan space is heating up. First, Honda revised the City sedan by giving it new features and a fresher look. Then, Maruti Suzuki moved the Ciaz to its Nexa dealership network to enhance the premium-ness quotient. Another major player in this segment is Hyundai, which first came up with the Verna brand back in 2006. However, the current model, which came to us in 2011, has become old and feels dated too. The good news, however, is that the new generation Verna is close to its India launch. Bookings for the new Verna have been opened and you can book yourself a new car for a nominal refundable amount. The new Verna 2017 model has already been spotted testing several times and our sources inform us that its launch will take place on 22 August. Let’s take a look at the new Hyundai Verna 2017 launch date, price and other details.

Launch Date | 22 August 2017 |
Our sources inform us that the new Hyundai Verna 2017 will launch in India on 22 August 2017. Bookings for the new model are already underway. It may be noted here that the Verna has been losing out to both the Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City. Hence, launching the new 2017 Verna has got quite prudent for the Korean company.

Hyundai Verna 2017 Exterior Design
The new Verna features Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. As a result, the car looks more mature than before. Now it looks better sculpted and definitely more modern than the outgoing car. The front now carries a hexagonal grille that is typical of every new Hyundai. A sportier bumper and sleek headlamps, together with this new grille, lend the new Verna’s nose a more upmarket feel. The fog lamp housings have chrome inserts too to give that premium feel to the car. What you will also see are the new alloy wheels. From the side, this car still resembles the outgoing model to some extent, but overall, there’s a definite sense of freshness. The new twin-pod taillamps give the new Verna an Elantra-like posterior. While the rear bumper’s design looks great and makes the car look athletic, it may result in giving the boot a high loading lip.
Hyundai Verna 2017 Interior Design
Moving to the inside, the new Verna has a new dashboard. The centre console now has a minimalistic feel to it with the new touchscreen infotainment unit. The steering wheel has a two-spoke design seems to be just the right size. The A/C vents flanking the infotainment unit are triangular in shape while those on left and right dashboard extremities are trapezoidal. All this does give the dashboard a much more premium look than before.
