Hyundai Venue comes in two petrol and one diesel engine. The mild hybrid is likely to be introduced with an automatic transmission soon.
Hyundai recently made its entry to the sub-4-metre compact SUV segment with the Venue. And the car has received an overwhelming response from the Indian market that the bookings for the same have reached over 15000.
The compact SUV comes in three-engine options, two petrol and one diesel engine. The choice of mild hybrid engine option is not available with any of Hyundai’s product in India but it could soon change with the Venue.
Hyundai Venue 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will likely receive the mild hybrid system. The 12V mild hybrid will give a direct competition to Maruti Baleno and Ciaz. Regardless to say the fuel efficiency will also be improved and the car performs better once this system is included. The current fuel efficiency for the 7-speed DCT 18.16Kmpl.

A mild hybrid system is less complex and cost-effective system. The main benefit of this type of system is, it saves fuel by shutting off the engine when the car is at idle or braking. It allows a decent amount of acceleration in bumper to bumper city traffic and will not cause any turbo lag. Furthermore, reduce amounts of CO2 (lower emissions) if compared to its diesel engine will make the environment less polluted.
Hyundai Venue engines line-up varies from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor which churns 83bhp with 115 of peak torque. It is available with a 5-speed gearbox. The much powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor produces 120bhp at 6000rpm with a peak torque of 172Nm at 1500 rpm. This motor is available with a choice of 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel motor generates 84bhp with 200Nm of torque. It is mated to 6-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai Venue is the first connected compact SUV which offers blue-link technology which can be accessed via smartphone. The interiors of the car feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Electric sunroof, keyless entry, wireless charging, air-purifier, voice assistant, maps and navigation services are some of the features which the car gets. Furthermore, the car features split headlight design with LED DRL’s on the top and projector headlights at the bottom.

It sits on 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the car is available in a total of 10 colours. The dual tone exterior paint scheme can be expected too. The prices for the car starts at Rs 6.50 lakh for the base variant and the top variant fetches up to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
