Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CRV – Exterior Design
The design of the Hyundai Tucson follows the manufacturer’s Fluidic Design language. And like most modern Hyundais, this one is a good looking car as well. Sleek headlamps with projector units flank a hexagonal grille. Fog lamps and LED daytime running lamps are placed in the bumper below. The side features thick body cladding and a rising window line. At the back, there are split tail lamps that get LED detailing on the top-end trims. Even though the CR-V has been around for a few years now, it isn’t exactly a familiar face as there are very few of them on the road. It looks a soft roader and doesn’t have the butch appeal of an SUV that Indians like so much. The steeply raked windshield gives the rear end an interesting look. The 2015 model CR-V never made it to India.
Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CRV – Interior
The cabin of the Tucson isn’t as eye-catching as the exterior. That said, the dashboard looks classy with a neat layout. The simple design is a reflection of Hyundai’s current design philosophy. The India-spec Tucson could feature a black-beige colour combination, leather wrapped steering, leather seats, etc. The CR-V’s dashboard comes finished in dark materials. Its design is very simple, but looks fairly modern. Top-end variant gets a touchscreen infotainment system.

Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CRV – Verdict
On paper, Hyundai Tucson seems like a very good urban SUV. It has got great looks and gets a long list of features. Prices also start below the 20 lakh mark, which gives it a huge advantage over the CR-V. The ageing CRV suffers from the lack of a diesel engine option. Also, top-end variants cost as much as the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, which means it doesn’t score well on the VFM front.
