The recall includes the YF Sonatas produced in Korea until December 6, about 46,000 cars and those produced at Alabama and sold to customers till February 16, about 1300 cars.
Hyundai will recall cars from March 2010 due to complaints of faulty front-door locks on some of these cars. USA dealers have been instructed to stop selling these cars until the problem is fixed.
The problem is that the front doors of some of the Sonatas cannot be closed properly if a person simultaneously pulls the door latch and holds down the lock from inside.
This problem can be dangerous if the door is not properly closed and the driver is driving at a high speed. To avoid any mishaps, Hyundai will recall and fix the problem with all such models.
