Hyundai Motor India Limited is celebrating 15 years of its operations in India, and to commemorate this event it has launched the Hyundai Santro Xing Celebration Edition. The Santro was Hyundai’s first offering in India, it seems fit that this car would also be the one to commemorate the company’s long love story with India. The Santro Xing Celebration Edition gets a host of features to make it a bit more appealing.
The celebration edition can be differentiated from the outside due to a generic graphic sticker on the side of the car, the limited colours including Coral White, Sleek Silver and Mushroom and badging at the rear. The celebration edition is only available in the GL Plus variant.
Price
Hyundai Santro Xing Celebration Edition GLS (Petrol): Rs. 3.81 Lakh
Additions to car include:
- Rear parking sensors with distance indicator on the inside rear-view mirror
- Blaupunkt stereo system
- A manual rear sun-blind
- New floor mats
The Hyundai Santro Xing Celebration Edition will not receive any mechanical changes, which means it will still be powered by a 1.1-litre engine with both Petrol, LPG and CNG fuel options. The engine, when running on petrol, produces 62 BHP and 96 Nm of torque and delivers it to the front wheels via a 5-speed transmission. Other features include:
- Keyless Entry
- Engine Immobilizer
- Body coloured bumpers and radiator grille
- 2-tone interior trim
- One-piece front seats, integrated head restraints on rear seats
- 4-speakers
The Hyundai Santro Xing does not seem to be going away anytime soon, it still sells about 4000 units a month. We think Hyundai will keep selling the car in India till the demand for the Eon picks up, which would happen when the Eon is launched with a small diesel engine.
