Hyundai India had a great 2010 with a new milestone of selling 6 Lakh units in India in a single year. The rise in domestic sales has been 23.1% whereas there has been a decline in the exports from India of about 8.5%. Averaging out the total figures, it comes out that Hyundai India has registered an overall sales growth of 7.8% globally. The top selling cars by Hyundai has been Hyundai Santro, Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i20.
Talking about this achievement, Arvind Saxena, Director – Marketing and Sales, HMIL quoted “”The year 2010 has been positive for the industry and HMIL. For the first time since inception HMIL clocked record cumulative sales of over 600,000 units and new products like the Santa Fe as well as upgrades like the ‘Next Gen’ i10 have been very well received by the market and we continue to be a strong player in the domestic market. We expect the market to continue to grow in 2011 although the rate of growth may come down somewhat.
