Hyundai has issued a voluntary recall for the Xcent Prime and Grand i10 CNG variants, that have an issue related to the CNG filter assembly.
Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 CNG models manufactured between 1st August 2017 and 30th September 2019 have been detected with an issue related to the CNG filter assembly. For that, the manufacturer has issued a voluntary recall.
Most of the affected vehicles are the Prime models, which are used by fleet operators. The factory-fitted CNG kit has been detected with the issue. The issue is not related to the cars with after-market CNG kits.
Around 16,400 vehicles have been affected and the process will commence from 25th November. The dealerships will start reaching out soon and if the problem is detected, it will be repaired free of cost.

The Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 CNG get the same 1.2 Litre BS-4 petrol engine, that puts out 66 BHP and 99 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only option available. The Xcent CNG delivers a claimed mileage of 26 kms/kg whereas the Grand i10 CNG delivers 29 kms/kg.
After the launch of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the diesel and automatic variants of Grand i10 have been discontinued. Currently, it is only available in CNG and petrol option, which might be continued further just for fleet operators.
Same is the scenario with Hyundai Xcent, which will soon be available only in CNG option for private and commercial buyers. At the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai is launching the new Aura sedan which will be based on the Xcent itself.

Hyundai Aura will get BS-6 compliant 1.2 Litre petrol and diesel engines, along with the new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol GDI engine. The turbo unit comes on the Hyundai Venue, delivering 123 BHP. On the Aura, the power figures are likely to come down to around 100 BHP.
Along with new engine, expect fresh design language, change in the dimensions and addition of new features. Expect the features list of Aura to be similar to that of Grand i10 Nios.
