Staying committed to its strategy of having a product in every segment of the Indian automobile market, Hyundai has officially announced the name of its upcoming 7-seater SUV based on Creta. It will be called Alcazar and will have its global debut starting from India. This news comes ahead of Hyundai showing its intentions for our market by investing Rs 3,200 Crore here. Apart from a more affordable new electric car, products like the Alcazar, micro-SUV AX and an MPV are on top of Hyundai’s launch list for this year. The product in question is the 7-seater Alcazar, which will surely shake up the market because of being based on the highest-selling SUV in the country, Creta. Expectedly, the front end of the Alcazar maybe based on Creta which is already a positive start for the SUV. Being a Hyundai, there are bound to be a ton of modern, tech and convenience features. Let us look at what to expect from the 7-seater Alcazar.

7-Seater Hyundai Alcazar – Expected Key Highlights
The overall appearance on the front end will resemble the Creta although there might some minute changes to differentiate it from the Creta. These could be tweaked headlamp designs, bumper or grille. The sides will obviously be longer to incorporate the third row of seating. The roof design might be engineered to strike a balance between looks and practicality for the third row. The rear is something that might well be very different from the Creta. In fact, the Alcazar will have a life of its own past the C-Pillar. We can expect a very modern styling with LED tail lamps. Overall, it will feature the latest design language from Hyundai.

7-Seater Hyundai Alcazar – Expected Engines, Prices and Rivals
The engine options for the 7-seat version will likely be carried on from the regular Creta. This means that there will be two petrol and one diesel engine options on offer. There will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol making 114hp and 145Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol making 138hp and 242Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel making 113hp and 250Nm. There will be all sorts of transmission options including manual and automatic. The level of flexibility is something we have come to expect from Hyundai products. The prices of the 7-seat Creta are expected to be somewhere around Rs 14 lakh to Rs 19 lakh, ex-showroom. With that price point, it can prove to be a tough competitor to the recently launched Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Mahindra XUV500.
