Hyundai Motor Company has pulled back the curtain on its latest concept car—the Insteroid. Based on the Hyundai Inster EV, this high-performance machine blends motorsport styling with gaming-inspired elements. Revealed in Seoul, Korea, the Insteroid concept blends sporty elements with eco-conscious driving.
A Radical Design Transformation
The Insteroid is an evolution of the Hyundai Inster, pushing the boundaries of what an urban electric SUV can be. Key enhancements include:
- A widened stance for an aggressive road presence
- Aerodynamic tweaks like a prominent wing spoiler and air vents for improved stability
- Track-optimized wheels, hinting at a performance-oriented drive
Inside, Hyundai has ditched the traditional comforts in favor of a raw, race-ready cabin. The Insteroid features:
- Lightweight bucket seats for an immersive driving feel
- A protective roll cage, reinforcing its track-focused nature
- Specialized instrumentation, putting essential driving data front and center

The concept car’s virtual counterpart is also set to debut in Kartrider Rush+, giving gamers a chance to experience the Insteroid’s essence in the digital world. The Seoul Mobility Show (April 3-13, 2025) will showcase the Insteroid, allowing visitors to witness this EV in person. Beyond its physical debut, Hyundai plans to expand the Inster lineup globally in 2025.
