Hyundai with its league of small cars is doing pretty well in the Indian automobile sector and with the cumulative sales of Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i20, accounts for more than 15% of the total market share. The Korean manufacturer now has decided to widen the small gap between the two cars with an all new car called the Hyundai HB or Hyundai i15.
Basically the car is is targeted at emerging markets like ours and the Brazilian one. The concern regarding the two Hyundai successes was the i10 being smaller and the i20 being slightly expensive so the i15 is going to aim between the two with competitive pricing and appreciable space.
Like us every blog in the country is eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the car but unfortunately we couldn’t. In the meanwhile a Brazilian blog ,Noticias Automotivas has managed to take some spy shots while the car was being tested in the neighborhood of Ipiranga in Sao Paulo.
Whatever we see in the above shot looks very much contemporary and stylish. Taking under consideration the interiors of all the existing cars from the manufacturer, excluding 2011 Hyundai Verna, this car is really very different with a nicely designed console and a host of new features.
The steering seems to be a four spoke one and is expected to have mounted audio and phone controls along with a cruise control button at the rear of the wheel. Newly designed central A/C vents with vertical fins. A CD player with radio is another expected thing with no visible AUX and USB ports. A black colour theme for the interiors with titanium finish over buttons.
Door bottle holders, large glove box, good quality finish are some of the other notable things on the inside of the car. With a thorough look around the cabin it seems to be the top of the line variant. Under the hood the car is supposed to get the same 1.2-liter Kappa2 engine producing a peak power of 80PS at 6000rpm and peak torque of 111Nm at 4000rpm.
For diesel lovers a 1.4 liter CRDi with an output of 90PS at 4000rpm and peak torque of 220Nm at 1750rpm will also be there. The i15 is surely going to hit the market with a bang and will definitely be loved by the customers.
