The Hyundai i10 N Line gets an even sportier styling than the already sporty Euro-spec i10 and it also gets the 1.0L turbo petrol engine from the Venue in a lesser sate of tune.
Hyundai first unveiled the Grand i10 Nios in India and then followed it by the Euro-spec third-generation i10. Honestly, we were a little jealous seeing the Euro-spec i10 as it looks a tad bit more attractive than the Grand i10 Nios that we get here in India. Now, to make us even more envious, Hyundai has unveiled the i10 N Line at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
While the Euro-spec i10 only had cosmetic differences than the Grand i10 Nios found nhere in India, this Hyundai i10 N Line is also sportier at its heart. It comes with two petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit. The former is the same power unit found in the Venue, although in a lesser state of tune.
The 1.0L, turbo-petrol engine in the i10 N Line produces 100 PS of power and 172 Nm of peak torque, 20 PS than what you get in the Venue. This engine comes mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other 1.2L, naturally aspirated engine produces, well not so overwhelming 84PS and 118Nm of peak torque. This engine can be had with either the 5-speed manual or an AMT.
We will admit that visually it looks like something that could pack in some more punch. Nevertheless, it comes with quite an aggressive looking honeycomb grille with funky looking DRLs. And don’t the LED DRLs somewhat resemble the ones on a Ford Mustang? It also gets a lower bumper which is aggressive still and new 16-inch wheels with the ‘H’ design elements. They look stunning. Other design elements include a tinge of red at various places and a diffuser at the rear.

On the inside, the basic layout of the dashboard remains the same and there are not many changes here. The dashboard is finished in an all-black shade while the steering wheel and gear lever now come with ‘N’ badging. Apart from that, thee are plenty of red elements to up the sporty quotient.

Back here in India, there are rumours that Hyundai might introduce the 1.0L, turbo-petrol engine from the Venue in the Grand i10 Nios as well. Now that Hyundai has revealed the N Line variant with the turbo-petrol engine at Frankfurt, there might be some chances that the same happens here in India. If so, the N Line variant of the Grand i10 Nios will take on hot hatchbacks like the Tiago JTP, Polo GT TSI and the Baleno RS.
