Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second-largest carmaker and largest exporter since inception, recently launched its first-ever micro SUV. Dubbed Hyundai Exter, the new model is priced similarly to the Tata Punch. We’ll driving the new offering very soon and plan to come with a detailed video review. From the looks of it, the new model could give its rivals a run for their money! Bookings for the Exter have been underway on the carmaker’s official website and at all authorised dealerships. Hyundai Exter comes with as many as 60 connected features through the Bluelink connectivity suite. The Exter even offers an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment along with a digital instrument cluster that features a 4.2-inch colour TFT MID. Other salient features include-

Hyundai Exter even offers segment-first 90+ embedded voice commands that work without internet. These commands enhance the user convenience irrespective of data connectivity. Some of the Hinglish voice instructions include “Sunroof Kholo”, “Temperature Kam Kardo” and more. The novelties don’t end here as the Exter even offers H2C (Home-to-Car) Alexa support in Hindi as well as English. Meanwhile, the infotainment unit supports 10 reginal and 2 international languages. Akin to the Venue, the Exter even offers Ambient Sounds of Nature to further improve the user experience.
Largest-in-segment Interior
With a best-in-class wheelbase of 2,450 mm, the Exter promises a roomy cabin. Moreover, the micro SUV even offers best in segment height of 1,631 mm, which further enhances the roominess of the cabin. Moreover, the carmaker reveals that the seats have been optimized to offer easy ingress and egress. The large DLO further improves the interior roominess.

Hyundai Exter is available with 1.2-litre 4-cylinder VTVT petrol and Petrol+CNG options . Both the motors are BS6.2-compliant and support E20 fuel. The petrol mill offers 83 PS and 113.8 Nm of maximum power and torque. Meanwhile, the bi-fuel option churns out 69 PS and 95.2 Nm. Both the motors come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Additionally, the petrol mill is even available with a 5-speed AMT option. Speculations abound that the Exter could even get Venue’s 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol at a later stage.
