Hyundai is all set to launch a new SUV. Now, the company has released a sketch of the Hyundai Exter.
Hyundai is one of the most prominent players in the country’s automotive industry. It has many high-selling models in the market, including Grand i10 Nios, i20, Venue, Verna, and Creta. Now, the company is ready to add a micro-SUV to its portfolio. Dubbed Hyundai Exter, the new model will go against the Maruti Ignis, Tata Punch, and Citroen C3. In fact, it could even eat into the sales of the B1-segment hatchbacks. The Exter will launch on July 10 and ahead of its market debut, the carmaker has revealed the design and feature details of the new offering.

The official images revealed so far give a good look at the design of the Hyundai Exter. It follows a distinctive design language with split headlights and signature H-shaped LED taillights. You can also see a unique front fascia with a parametric grille. There are also distinctive lines on the hood. The new car gets 15-inch alloy wheels with two color options. Additionally, the upcoming car will come with a segment-first dual dashcam, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and a large infotainment screen with connectivity features. For safety, the upcoming car will come with 6-airbags across all variants. The pictures even reveal a single-pane sunroof and a dual-tone body paint. This means the Exter will soon become one of the most affordable cars in India to offer a sunroof.

The upcoming SUV has two engine options that meet BS6 Phase-2 standards and support E20 blended fuel. The regular variants will be powered by a 1.2L VTVT 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82 hp of power and 115 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Also, the new model will be available with a CNG option right from its debut. The alternative fuel variant will be sold only with a 5-speed ‘box. Rumors abound that the micro SUV would even get a 1.0L 3-cylinder T-GDi turbo petrol engine option at a later stage. The low-displacement turbo-petrol mill produces 99 hp of power and 172 Nm of torque.
