This video has been created by The Car Guide – Rishabh Arora on YouTube. He has the vehicle in AMT transmission. He is driving it around an area which is well-maintained in terms of the road. Just as he starts driving, he accepts that the performance of the vehicle is much better than he was expecting. Note that the Exter has the same powertrain as the Grand i10 Nios. But the engineers have calibrated it according to the SUV silhouette of the Exter. And that is visible in the performance. The overall driving is very smooth and the engine doesn’t feel underpowered at all. The ride quality and handling are decent. What We Think
The trend of SUVs is only going to increase going forward. That is the reason why we keep witnessing smaller and smaller SUVs being launched on a daily basis. People prefer a vehicle that has a road presence and the SUV silhouette allows them to achieve that. In fact, that was the reason for the massive success of Tata Punch. Now the Exter is slated to become a worthy rival by offering tons of segment-first features and the option of multiple powertrains to suit all kinds of requirements of Indian customers. Only time will tell how big of a dent will the Exter be able to put on the sales of Punch.
