A YouTuber brings a detailed video of the base model of the recently launched Hyundai Exter. The Exter boasts a plethora of segment-first features, safety equipment, bold styling, as well as attractive pricing. In fact, this base EX model starts at just Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom making it a worthy Tata Punch rival. While we already know that the top model is loaded with the latest tech and convenience features up to the brim, it is exciting to check out what Hyundai offers in this base trim of the micro SUV. Hyundai Exter Base Model (EX) – Exterior
At the front, it gets regular turn indicators as well as halogen headlamps instead of the LED units on the higher trims. Apart from that, the grille is also finished in a regular black material rather than the glossy black finish on the higher trims. On the sides, one could see the 14-inch steel rims with black arches instead of the larger alloys. Also, the door handles are black, the turn indicators are mounted on the fender, the ORVMs are made up of black plastics and the side body cladding is black as well. The roof of the Exter is devoid of the roof rails which accentuate its SUV-ish silhouette higher variants. Interestingly, the buyers will get LED tail lamps from the base trim itself.

Interior and Features
Hyundai Exter gets 6 airbags, parking sensors, an engine immobiliser, a burglar alarm, a high-speed alert system, seatbelt reminder, central locking, impact sensing auto door unlock, keyless entry, three-point seatbelt for all seats, fabric seats, digital plaster with colour TFT MID, voice recognition, manual AC, front power windows, driver seat height adjustment, adjustable rear headrest, multiple regional UI languages, reading lamp, front and rear door map pockets, floor mats, etc even in its base trim. This makes it quite an attractive package even for those who are on a strict budget.

The Hyundai Exter is available with two powertrain choices. The first is a 1.2-litre petrol engine delivering 83 PS of peak power and 113.8 Nm of peak torque. The second option is a 1.2-litre bi-fuel engine, running on both petrol and CNG, generating 69 PS of power and 95.2 Nm of torque. The regular petrol engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission, while the CNG trim only gets the manual gearbox. The Exter achieves a fuel efficiency rating of 19.2 km/l. In terms of pricing, the ex-showroom range spans from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
