The Hyundai Exter is one of the much-anticipated sub-4m SUVs this year. Now, a testing mule has been spotted in the snow.
Hyundai is all set to launch a new compact SUV called the Exter. It will compete with the likes of Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. While Hyundai has already released a few official images, the upcoming micro-SUV was snapped undergoing harsh climate tests. Basically, it was seen testing on snow! As you can see in the images, the Hyundai Exter looks entirely at home gliding on the snow-covered tarmac.

Hyundai Exter Design & Features
The new Hyundai Exter is being touted as the next winner in the micro SUV segment. It will likely come with multiple drive and traction control modes. In terms of design, the upcoming car features a split headlamp assembly with LED daytime running lights and LED projectors in the top-end trims. There will also be LED inserts in the tail lamps. Additional features include 15-inch machined alloy wheels, roof rails, and a single-pane sunroof.

The upcoming SUV will be based on the K1 small car platform that underpins the Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Its aesthetics are based on the company’s “Sensuous Sportiness” design philosophy. On the inside, the Hyundai Exter will offer the latest features like a push start-stop button, a wireless charger, dual-tone upholstery, and Bluelink. It will likely have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new Hyundai Exter will be powered by a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine that offers 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. The transmission will be courtesy a 5-speed manual as standard and a 5-speed AMT as an option. Also on offer will be a CNG Bi-fuel variant that should output 69 PS of maximum power and 95.2 Nm of torque. The top-end variants might even come with an optional 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Currently, there is no information about the price tag of the upcoming SUV. It will go against the likes of Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
