Hyundai has completely discontinued the i20 Diesel in India for now. The upcoming version of the hatch will get a new diesel engine then.
Hyundai i20 Diesel is no longer available in the market. Almost all the dealerships have exhausted the i20 BS4 stocks. The 1.4 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine powering the i20, Venue and base variants of Creta and Verna has been discontinued.
All the variants of Hyundai i20 Diesel have reportedly been discontinued across the country. The dealerships have also stopped taking bookings for the car. Only the petrol variants have received the BS6 upgrade.
Hyundai i20 comes in 12 variants out of which, five variants have been discontinued. The i20 recently got a BS6 upgrade and is now sold in four variants. That will include the Magna, Sportz, Sportz DT and Asta (O). The base-spec Era and CVT variants have also been discontinued.

The new i20 will use the 1.5 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine that recently came on Venue. The engine is actually from Seltos but has been detuned for Venue. The same engine also comes on the new Creta and will come on new Verna. On Venue, the motor produces 100 BHP and 220 Nm of peak torque.
The new generation Hyundai i20 will debut by June 2020 and not at the Auto Expo. So, Hyundai might upgrade the current i20 with BS6 petrol engine and sell it till the new model arrives. The upcoming i20 has already been spied testing in India.
The 2020 Hyundai i20 will also get Venue’s 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine. The power figures will be around 110-115 BHP to keep the mileage in check. Hyundai might even offer a manual gearbox along with the new 7-speed DCT on the turbo i20.

The new i20 will also get features like electric sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging, new alloy wheels, projector headlamps and disc brakes on all four wheels. As again, Hyundai will peg it as the most feature-rich hatchback in the segment.
