The waiting period for the most popular mid-size SUV in the country, Hyundai Creta, is now just 2 months. This is incredible considering it used to hover somewhere around 6 months. The second-largest carmaker in India is gearing up for the festive season. The time from the commencement of the Navratris to Diwali is considered the peak of the festive season. Each year, people wait for this auspicious season to purchase new items including home appliances and automobiles. In fact, in this season in 2022, there were 34,446 units sold by Hyundai. Hence, the carmakers anticipate the demand and have their manufacturing plans accordingly. In line with that, Hyundai has a massive order book of 1,19,000 units for this season.

What We Think
We feel that Hyundai’s initiative to offer 6 airbags as standard across its entire range is commendable. The car buyers are already very particular about analysing the safety equipment on offer before making a purchase decision. To have peace of mind about knowing that any model they pick will have such high standard safety features is great. Apart from that, people know that Hyundai has an excellent dealership and service centre network across the country. That also explains why the order book of Hyundai is so long. Let us see how well the festive season turns out for our automobile industry.
