In the latest unfortunate incident, a Nilgai jumps in front of a Hyundai Creta. Now, animals appearing on highways is a rather common affair on Indian roads. Creta is the highest-selling SUV in our market. People buy it for its enticing new-age features, multiple powertrain options and stylish and bold looks. In fact, it has been able to score a decent 3-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. Some real crashes throw some light on how well it performs. Nilgai Jumps in Front of Hyundai Creta

In fact, since this took place during the night, the visibility is anyway not great. The highway is not properly lit. Still, the driver was overspeeding. At one point in time, a Nilgai suddenly emerges from the side of the road. Since the visibility was poor, the mid-size SUV ended up hitting the animal at a relatively high speed. The consequences are quite shocking and horrifying.

As per the details in the video, the entire front section of the Creta is in a dilapidated condition. The bumper, bonnet, fender, grille, headlight, etc. are totally destroyed. The host in the video also mentions that the SUV hit a pole after the collision with the animal. That left a huge dent in the rear door panel. The airbags of the SUV had deployed. Miraculously, the passengers escaped without any serious injury. In all honesty, the performance of the Creta in this particular instance is quite commendable.
