The upcoming 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift has been undergoing testing for a while now. Despite being heavily camouflaged, careful observation has revealed design cues reminiscent of the Exter. Since the Exter takes inspiration from the Palisade, we expect even the mid-cycle facelift for the Creta to have a similar look. The second-get compact SUV has been around since 2020. With the advent of fresher rivals, a facelift should actually help bring it back into limelight. The mid-life refresh will debut early next year. The Palisade-like soft parts for the India-spec model will distinguish it from the Tucson-like version sold abroad.

2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift to Receive Exter-Like Soft Parts and More Features
The Creta facelift will feature a multi-tier lighting setup like the one on the Exter. A standout feature here will be the hood-level Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) displaying the distinctive H-motif signature. Additionally, a hood-wide light bar, akin to the Verna, is expected to exude an air of sophistication. An Exter-like grille will further enhance the rugged appearance of the vehicle. Spy shots seen thus far showcase a fresh set of alloy wheels reminiscent of those on the latest Alcazar. At the rear, changes include a new hatch gate, new taillamps, and a new bumper.
Inside, the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift will offer a plethora of new features. For an upscale atmosphere, the interior theme may adopt a dark colour palette similar to the one on the now-defunct Turbo variant. Many of the existing features from the current model will make it to the new version. These will include the multifunctional four-spoke steering wheel, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, BlueLink connectivity, BOSE audio system, and an electric panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, all trim levels will have six airbags, along with ABS, EBD, ESP, and traction control. The top-tier variant will come with a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Strengthened Structure
Furthermore, apart from the inclusion of new safety features, the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift is set to feature a reinforced body shell. This enhancement is expected to bolster the car’s crash-worthiness and potentially lead to improved crash ratings for the popular compact SUV, taking a page from Kia’s playbook, where the latest Seltos also received a reinforced body structure.

Hyundai Creta EV with Kona EV’s Powertrain
The Hyundai Creta will soon get an electric variant, which will debut with the arrival of the facelift. It will mark Hyundai’s entry into the mass-market EV segment. It’s noteworthy that Kona Electric marked the carmaker’s initial foray into India’s EV market, but the landscape has since become fiercely competitive. Manufacturers like Tata Motors and Mahindra have come up with more affordable alternatives with models such as the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV, and XUV400. To meet this challenge, Hyundai is preparing to electrify its most successful SUV. Converting existing popular models into EVs is a cost-effective approach widely adopted by Indian automaker.
The Hyundai Creta EV will utilize the electric powertrain of the Kona Electric, featuring a 39.2 kWh Lithium-ion polymer battery paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a respectable 136 PS and 395 Nm of power and torque. When using an AC home charger, it can be fully charged from 0 to 100% in approximately 6 hours and 10 minutes. With a 50 kW DC fast charger, it can reach an 80% charge in just 57 minutes. According to ARAI, the SUV boasts a range of 452 km on a single charge. The Creta EV is expected to make its debut soon after the arrival of the facelift.
