The EV space in India is expanding rapidly as we witness new models frequently from the top carmakers
In this post, we are comparing the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV on the basis of specs, features, price, design, safety and dimensions. Note that Tata Motors is the largest EV maker in the country. Its Curvv EV is a feature-rich coupe SUV which has been gaining traction lately. On the other hand, the Creta Electric is the EV version of the mighty popular Creta mid-size SUV. The Korean auto giant wishes to leverage the popularity of the Creta nameplate to usher into the electric era. The launch will take place on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. For now, let us delve into the thorough comparison between the two.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv EV – Price
The prices of the Hyundai Creta Electric are still under wraps. However, we expect a starting price of around Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Tata Curvv EV ranges from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, we will need to wait for the official prices of the Creta to come to any conclusion.

Top Model | Rs 25 lakh | Rs 21.99 lakh |
Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv EV – Specs
Hyundai will announce all the details pertaining to the specifications at the launch at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Still, it has revealed a few key points. The electric SUV will come with two battery pack options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, with ARAI-rated range figures of 370 km and 473 km on a single charge, respectively. These are decent stats even though the real-world range will depend on external factors and driving mannerisms. Apart from that, there is no report about the power and torque values but the claimed 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds. One can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport modes. What is quite distinct is the placement of the drive mode selector on the steering column. The Creta Electric even comes with the i-Pedal technology enabling single-pedal driving. Using a DC fast charger, it takes 58 minutes to juice up the battery from 10% to 80%. Also, with an 11 kW AC wall box charger, you can charge the battery from 10% to 100% in 4 hours. High efficiency and reduced drag is possible with active aero intakes.
On the other hand, the Tata Curvv EV is also available in two variants – 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The range figures are a healthy 502 km and 585 km on a single charge. These are clearly better than what Creta Electric promises. The power and torque range from 148 hp / 215 Nm to 165 hp / 215 Nm, respectively. Again, we don’t know the specs of the Creta Electric to compare. Using a 70 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be juiced up from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes. This mill enables a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 8.6 seconds. With a ground clearance of 190 mm, it can glide over most obstacles with relative ease. Also, the 500-litre boot capacity is cavernous.

Design and Dimensions
In terms of the design, both these EVs differ significantly. The Hyundai Creta Electric draws inspiration from the regular model for the outside and inside. Up front, the Creta Electric gets sleek LED DRLs along with a connected LED light strip which runs the width of the fascia, a sealed-off section with rugged black materials in the lower half with vertically oriented LED headlamps on the extreme edges of the bumper and a sturdy skid plate finished in gunmetal. Moving down the sides showcases new dual-tone aero alloy wheels, black side pillars, black roof and side body skirtings with black wheel arches cladding to accentuate the imposing demeanour. Completing the exterior styling, the tail section consists of a shark fin antenna, connected LED taillamps, a black strip on the bumper and a sporty skid plate. In essence, there are significant differences between the ICE and Electric Hyundai Creta.
On the other hand, the Tata Curvv EV also comes with a distinct road presence due to that coupe silhouette. At the front, it offers a sleek LED light bar which runs the width of the vehicle, the main LED headlamp cluster is located on the sides of the unique bumper which contains attractive patterns and a skid plate under the bumper. Moving to the sides reveals elegant wheel arches with elegant alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, side body claddings, black side pillars and a sloping roofline. Finally, the tail end bears that sloping roofline along with a shark fin antenna, an extended bootlid spoiler and a connected LED strip with reflector lights on the edges of the sporty bumper. Since looks are subjective, I would leave the decision to our readers about which one looks better.
Dimensions (in mm) | Hyundai Creta Electric (ICE) | Tata Curvv EV |
Length | 4,330 | 4,310 |
Width | 1,790 | 1,810 |
Height | 1,635 | 1.637 |
Wheelbase | 2,610 | 2,560 |
My View
Choosing between these two compelling propositions can be quite confusing. However, we must first wait for the price revelation of the new Hyundai Creta Electric. In any case, if you wish to go for something familiar, the Creta Electric makes a lot of sense since it is, essentially, the electric iteration of the regular Creta. On the other hand, if you wish to opt for a specifically unique design and a new product, the Curvv EV should be your pick. In any case, I would advise our readers to visit their local dealerships to experience the two in the flesh.
