Things are going roller-coaster for the Korean automaker, in the sedan segment. So, who must be applauded for its aggressive marketing, better service or the new design language. Guessed correctly, the credit goes to the new design language which you all know as “Fluidic”. Yes our friends from east have spotted Hyundai testing a sedan which might be placed between Elantra and Sonata in China. However, yet no official details about the same has been released and Hyundai has coded this car as CF.
Hyundai might power CF with a 1.8-litre petrol motor or 1.6-litre turbo powered petrol engine in the production model of CF. The spy pictures show the front fascia seems to be adopted from the refreshed Sonata and constitutes of horizontal layout, which suggest that CF will be placed in a premium segment. In China, Hyundai has a price gap of Rs 2 lakh between top end Elantra and a base model of Sonata, which is the reason why Korean giant is pondering over to fill this void with CF. Hyundai might raise the curtain by April 2013, as Shanghai will be hosting the Shanghai Auto Expo 2013 at that time.
Hyundai has got the grip in sedan segment in India with Elantra clocking nearly 500 units in the month of December and giving a tough fight to other manufacturers in the same segment. Owing to this Hyundai Motors India Ltd might feel that it would not be the best time for introducing a second model very soon in the same price band. So, India might have to wait at least for another year to get the glimpse of CF.
