Hyundai has commenced the bookings for Aura through their website as well as through dealership. The sedan will be launched on 21st January.
The new Hyundai Aura is set to make a debut this month, replacing the Xcent in the lineup. It is actually based on the Xcent but gets some styling changes, new BS-6 engines and lots of new features onboard.
The bookings for the Hyundai Aura have now opened up officially. Hyundai Aura bookings can be either done through their website or through their dealerships, for a token amount of Rs 10,000. As said, the launch is scheduled to happen on 21st January.
Hyundai Aura now looks sportier than the Xcent with restyled bumpers, new alloy wheels and better finishes on the outside. Inside the cabin, there’s an improvement with refreshed upholstery and dashboard design.

The Aura now gets three new engines which are all BS-6 compliant. The 1.2 Litre petrol engine and a new 1.2 Litre EcoTorq diesel engine along with a 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine are the added options. The petrol and diesel engines are the same as the Nios.
The petrol engine is capable of producing 82 BHP and 114 Nm of peak torque, while the Diesel engine puts out 74 BHP and 190 Nm of peak torque. The turbo-petrol engine comes from the Venue but in a detuned manner. It produces 100 BHP and 172 Nm of peak torque.
Hyundai’s new in-house developed AMT gearbox has also made its way on the Aura, after the Nios and Santro. The 5-speed AMT and 5-speed MT options come on petrol and diesel variants. The turbo-petrol will get a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

Features onboard include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 5.3-inch digital speedometer with a multi-information display, Wireless Charging, First-in-segment Driver Rear View Monitor, Arkamys Sound System, Projector Headlamps, Diamond-Cut Alloy Wheels, Driver Seat Height Adjuster and much more.
Expect the prices of Hyundai Aura to start off at around Rs 6.10 Lakhs – 9.2 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be costlier than the Xcent by atleast Rs 30,000 – 40,000. Aura will rival the likes of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo.
