Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are now equipped with an optional semi-automatic clutch in the global market. The transmission comes from Rekluse.
Husqvarna Motorcycles are scheduled to make an appearance in India soon this year. Ahead of the launch, it has tied up with Rekluse, to offer an optional semi-automatic gearbox for both of its bike.
This system is unlikely to debut on the KTM motorcycles anytime soon. KTM is the promoter of Husqvarna motorcycles, which is owned by Bajaj Auto. As a result, the Swedish motorcycles will be manufactured from Bajaj’s plant.
Automatic Clutch or a Semi-Automatic gearbox is basically shifting the gears without pressing the clutch lever. The lever is provided, but the auto-clutch comes in to enhance safety and quick gear shifting.

Rekluse Gearboxes get the ‘Radius X’ system, which is a centrifugal auto-clutch system. This transmission is not that costly and can actually be fitted on any motorcycle.
The auto-clutch system is usually found in much more premium and performance oriented bikes. This confirms that Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will be premium than the Duke 390.
With the inclusion of the auto-clutch, the performance might be similar. The standard transmission offered with a 6-speed gearbox with a Slip and assist clutch.
