The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 are identical under the skin but still there are certain key differences which sets them apart. Find out how the two motorcycles differ here.
Husqvarna has finally made their India debut with the Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250. They have been launched in the country for a very attractive price and it brings a whole new zing to the 250cc segment like we have not seen before. The Husky twins are based on the KTM Duke 250 platform and they also share the same underpinnings. Although both the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 are similar under the skin, they both have quite distinct personalities and purpose. So what really differentiates these two motorcycles? Let’s find out.
Intent
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 has been designed as a cafe racer and the handlebars are so positioned that you get a mildly leaned-forward riding position. That should make this motorcylce quite handy on the twisties. On the other hand, the Svartpilen 250 has been designed as a scrambler and the handlebars are slightly taller as well for a less committed position. It also gets dual-purpose tyres. The motorcycle should be quite comfortable with light trails thus.
They come dressed differently
Both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250 have identical body panels and yet they are dressed differently. Husqvarna has given the two motorcycles unique paint schemes to tell them apart. The fuel tank of the Vitpilen 250 comes painted in white with a grey tail section and silver accents. The Svartpilen 250 on the other hand is almost opposite with a dark grey fuel tank, silver tail section and white accents.

There are some minor differences in the hardware too
The Svartpilen 250 get a very neatly designed tank rank as standard where you can strap on some small luggage in case you are going touring. That’s a well executed feature and we haven’t seen this being done any better on any other motorcycle. It also gets a single-piece, raised handlebar which offers a relatively relaxed riding posture. The Vitpilen 250 on the other hand gets clip-on handlebars which are lower set for better distribution of body weight and to allow you to lean on the motorcycle.
