Reports confirm that Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401 will be launched by this festive season. The motorcycles will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj Auto is bringing the dirt-bike specialist Husqvarna Motorcycles to India this year. The latter will launch two models in India – Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401. Fresh reports confirm that the schedule is on track, and we can expect them by Q3 2019.
Q3 2019 means by November-December period. KTM owns Husqvarna, which is owned by Bajaj Auto in India. So, the upcoming motorcycles will obviously be developed at Bajaj’s plant in Chakan.
The test mules have already been spotted testing in India, near Pune. Vitpilen translates to White Arrow in Swedish, and is a neo-Scrambler at heart. So, you get the dual-purpose tires and relaxed riding posture.

Svartpilen translates to Black Arrow, and will thus be available only in Black colour. It is a neo-cafe racer with low-positioned handlebars and a crouched riding position.
Both the motorcycles will use Duke 390’s engine underneath. The 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine produces 42 BHP and 37 Nm of torque in the KTM. The power figures and engine tuning is expected to be the same.
The spotted test mules come with USD forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the back. The test mules which we have seen come with the orange alloy wheels, which we think will not come on the production version.

Features onboard will include split LED headlamps at the front, Duke 390’s engine crash guard, a fully digital instrument console, split seats and low-positioned clip-on handlebars (Svartpilen).
The Husqvarna motorcycles will definitely come as a premium alternative to KTM Duke 390. So, expect the prices to be around Rs 3 Lakh range. At this price, it will go against BMW G 310 R, Royal Enfield 650 Twins, Honda CB300R and Benelli TNT300.
