Honda Cars India launched the Jazz-based WR-V Crossover in March 2017. The WRV slots in below the BRV in Honda’s product portfolio and rivals the likes of Hyundai i20 Active, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Cross Polo. Another car that the WRV rivals is the Toyota Etios Cross. True, the Etios Cross is far from being a bestseller. Etios Cross gets two petrol engine options and one diesel engine option. The 1.5 L Petrol is slightly more powerful and produces more torques than WR-V’s 1.2 L Petrol. However, the WR-V’s diesel engine is much more powerful than the Etios Cross’ 67 BHP unit.

Honda WRV vs Toyota Etios Cross Comparison – Verdict
Here’s what we feel about how these two vehicles compare on different aspects-
Price: The Etios Cross is a lot cheaper than the WRV. In WRV’s defence, however, we must add that the Honda is offering more features and more power (Diesel) and mileage.
Specifications: The Petrol WRV is slightly less powerful than the Etios Cross Petrol. However, its Diesel sibling is more powerful than the Diesel Etios Cross.
Mileage: The WRV is the clear winner here.
Features: The WRV offers more features. However, it’s is significantly pricier too.
Verdict- The WRV is significantly pricier than the Etios Cross. But it does offer a longer features list, a more powerful Diesel engine and higher mileage. In our view, the WRV will be a better option among these two if budget permits. However, bear in mind, Toyota’s after sales and reliablity is way ahead of Honda in India.
