Leaked design patents show that Honda is developing a 200cc adventure motorcycle for the Indian market, based on a completely new platform.
Honda is working on a new 200cc platform, which will further develop into a couple of new models. Amongst them, Honda seems to be also developing a new 200cc adventure motorcycle, as seen in this leaked patent.
As seen in the patent, the Honda Adventure motorcycle looks similar to the Hero Xpulse 200 and will rival the latter itself. At the front, it gets 21-inch tyres and 18-inch tyres at the back. We can also spot the long-travel suspension in the front and an upswept exhaust.
For this, Honda is also developing a new 200cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The motor will produce some 19-20 PS and will be tuned as per the motorcycle. For the adventure motorcycle, Honda might offer a generous amount of low-end torque.

Further, it can get features like a digital speedometer, switchable ABS, LED headlamps and a Bluetooth connected speedometer for navigation purposes. Xpulse comes with all these features and so, Honda might offer similar bits.
For suspension, the Honda ADV will get telescopic forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the back. Disc brakes on both the ends with a single-channel ABS will mostly handle the braking duties.
Not only an adventure motorcycle, but Honda is also said to be working on a naked streetfighter based on the new platform. It will use the same engine and might just be known as a bigger CB Hornet.
