Honda Vezel India Specifications
The current iteration of the Vezel is available with both petrol and a hybrid powertrain. We hope Honda could launch the latter but that depends on the market demand and currently only the former is being evaluated for launch. Under the hood is a 1.8-litre i-Vtec engine that churns out 141 hp of power and 127 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual or a CVT with pre-programmed 7-speed ratios. At present, there’s no news on the Diesel model. But let’s hope that the company shoehorns its excellent 1.6-litre iDTEC into the engine bay of India-spec model.
Honda Vezel India Interior Review
Over to the interior, the HR-V adopts Honda’s theme of “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” with everything laid out ergonomically and practically. The dashboard is laid out neatly with huge air vents on the passenger side stretching over the length of the dashboard. The rest of the features like air-con controls, infotainment system, and steering wheel look identical to that of the Honda City as they share certain parts. Huge cubby holes and storage spaces further enhance practicality in the cabin.
The coupè like sloping roofline doesn’t seem to affect the rear cabin space, although ingress and egress from the compact SUV could be affected. The HR-V gets a decent sized boot with a total capacity of 24.3 cu-ft with the rear seats folded up and 58.8 cu-ft with the seats folded down. The boot capacity will differ by about 5% on the 2WD and AWD models to make space for additional hardware.
Interior features an automatic climate control with an air purifier, leather-wrapped steering wheel with illuminated buttons and tilt/telescopic adjustment. Cruise control, sliding sun visors, 12-volt sockets for front and rear passengers and chrome door handles come as standard on all variants.
Honda Vezel Exterior Review
The Honda HR-V or Vezel made its debut in 2013 at the Tokyo Motor Show. It is based on the 2013 Honda Urban SUV concept. It features sleek headlamps with projector units and LED daytime running lamps. The thick slab housing the Honda logo gets a chrome strip running through the middle. For the Indian market, the entire slab could come finished in chrome. The side profile is characterized by body cladding for the wheels arches and a sloping roofline. Much like the Chevrolet Beat, the rear door handle is mounted high right next to the rear window. At the back, there are split tail lamps that could feature LED detailing. While the overall design is smart, the tail lights do look a tad oversized. While it is not big in terms of appearance, it will be more expensive than the similarly sized Hyundai Creta.
Honda Vezel India Features
Exterior features on the HR-V include halogen headlamps with daytime running lights (DLRs) and auto on/off feature. Keyless entry and go a.k.a smart entry is featured on the top end trims. Rear gets LED tail lights and the roof benefits form shark fin antenna.
Safety features on the HR-V include Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, ABS, EBD with brake assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and reverse camera with multi-view options and guidelines. There are a total of 6 airbags on offer with smart sensors like rollover detect sensor that engages the curtain airbags.
