Honda has launched the new BS-6 Compliant SP 125, which is its second BS-6 model. The bike gets fuel injection system and many segment-first features.
Starting with its say in the BS-6 space, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India has now launched the new BS-6 compliant SP 125. The prices of SP 125 start off at Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The SP 125 runs on a BS-6 compliant 124.6cc air-cooled engine will fuel injection system. The motor now produces 10.73 BHP, which is slightly higher than the BS-4 version and 10.9 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a new 5-speed gearbox.
Further, Honda has also put some engine-aiding features like silent ACG starter, Programmed Fuel Injection (PGMI) and friction reduction. With all these, the mileage is now 15% more than the BS-4 version.
The suspension is handled by the same telescopic forks at the front and new 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the back. For braking, you have drum brakes at both the ends as standard with an option of a front disc brake, paired with Combi-Braking System (CBS) as standard.
The BS-6 Honda SP 125 is bigger than the Shine 125. The wheelbase has been increased by 19mm and is now 1285mm. The bike is now 8mm longer, 23mm wider and 13mm taller. The length is 2020mm, width is 785mm and the height is 1103mm.
Features onboard include a fully digital speedometer, which shows average mileage, riding range, gear position indicator, eco indicator and real-time mileage, LED headlamps, engine start-stop switch, integrated headlamp beam with passing light and more.
The SP 125 is available in four colour options – Green, Imperiale Red Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. Further, Honda also offers a six-year warranty on the SP 125.
The production of SP 125 has commenced and the sales of the same start by next week of November. BS-6 Honda SP 125 competes with the likes of Hero Super Splendor, Hero Glamour 125, Bajaj Discover 125 and Yamaha Saluto 125.
